I am the director of the Geospatial Research and Applications Center (GRAC) at Auburn University, AL. The center has worked on multiple projects with companies, governments, and utilities in digitizing infrastructure data so that it can be used in disaster management. A paper written about the project won the 2013 best paper award from the Society for Information Management, USA. and won the most innovative practice from the Campus Technology Conference. These partnerships co-create value among the students, government officials, and company engineers. A similar model might be useable by the Caribbean GIS community.
