Madiha graduated in 1979 from Cairo University with a BA in Archaeology. She worked as Registrar for the National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago, and then entered back into full time education. In 2010 she completed an MPhil programme at the University of the West Indies for a research project using spatial techniques to investigate landscape archaeology on the island of St Kitts. In 2015 she completed a PhD with the University of Tasmania which again made use of GIS, in this instance extracting data from historical art works to investigate the history of forestation. Madiha is also a practicing artist.
