Katie is a GIS Journeymen Leader and a Senior at Washington College in Chestertown, MD pursuing a BA in Environmental Studies. She has a concentration in Chesapeake Regional Studies and is working towards Anthropology and Earth/Planetary Science minors. She is highly interested in open source information access and accessibility as components of education. She currently works as a project manager and event coordinator at Washington College's GIS Program, where environment and educational projects come under her purview. Her previous work experience includes working as an environmental educator for a nature conservancy near her hometown. She is also a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America and a proud recipient of the Gold Award, the highest ranking in GSA.
