Geographic information systems have long played a significant role in studying social justice issues, including health. Presenters in this session identify GIS as a powerful tool that can address disease management and improved social services. They are optimistic that healthcare professionals are likely to continue to promote its use to help underprivileged communities get better services. Attendees of this session will understand the tremendous potential of GIS in the health care industry.
