Enhancing Social and Economic Development Strategies with GIS Technology

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this session you will learn how economic development organizations are recognizing the power of GIS, and are using it as a platform to study complex spatial relationships that impact socio-economic development. With easy access to demographic and market data, GIS has become a more productive decision support tool for asset management, tracking goods and services, transportation planning, etc. In many ways GIS provides a foundation for understanding all aspects of a place, and the following presentations demonstrate how economic developers are taking advantage of GIS technology to improve economic and social development.
